A horse is a member of the "equus" family.  The word comes from ancient greece and means quickness.

Horses usually live for around 20 to 25 years.  Some of them can live up to 5 years more.

A horse has two blind spots; one is located directly in front of them while the other is located directly behind.

Do you want to ride on trails?  Well, first things first.  It is imperative that you take riding lessons to learn the basics of horses before riding on trails. 

Why?  Because it is for your safety and the horse's too.  The more you know how horses react to different environments, the faster you can react when things go wrong. 

Fact: To safely ride on trails, all horses need to be "pre-conditioned" and trained because of the nature of horses to spook at unfamiliar circumstances and things.  Therefore, the rider must be prepared at all times.
